Hydraulic oil under pressure can cause injury to persons on or near the machine when the pressure is suddenly released. At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil tank is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.

This sensor is used to detect the rotation of the drum during use. Before the operator begins paying out cable the counter in the operator's cabin is set to zero. The cable is then measured as it pays out to give the operator an approximate indication where the tooling is located. This is used to help the operator monitor tool position.
